Aislynn is accustomed to watching for the enemy. Her parents have instructed her from the time she was young to look for people with the signs: greater than normal strength, eyes that sometimes glow green, and the ability to jump long distances. Over the years, Aislynn has come to view her parents' fears as quirks and unfounded paranoia. They think life is like a horror novel with dangerous things lurking in shadows. But Aislynn just wants a normal high school life--maybe even one with a little romance.
When Aislynn's mother dies under suspicious conditions, her father doubles his restrictions. But all his precautions can't stop the boy with glowing green eyes from finding Aislynn. She realizes too late she's been drafted into an ancient Egyptian war, one where Horus and Set still struggle for control and people aren't who or what they seem to be. Danger will find her, whether she's prepared or not.
This urban fantasy takes you around the world: from Arizona to Oxford, England, with stops on the snowy peaks of the Arctic and the ancient ruins of Egypt.
Son of War, Daughter of Chaos is a teen paranormal romance so chock-full of action and suspense, young adults will have to fight their parents to read it!

Love
By Kathy (Bookworm Nation)
I really enjoyed this one. I’m glad I was able to snag a copy while the author temporarily had it up on Amazon. She is in the process of updating the cover and making a few other changes before going live. I will read anything Rallison writes, but I was especially looking forward to this one because of the Egyptian mythology angle (I actually liked the Mummy movies and love learning about Egyptian history). It seems like so much focus is going towards Greek mythology and I thought this was a fun change.
I’m still trying to figure out how to write this without giving away any spoilers. The book opens with Aislynn starting at a new school, but this move is different than the rest. This time she finally starts to believe that her father’s paranoia over “the enemy” may actually be true. I liked Aislynn, she was easy to relate to and you could understand how she was so torn. I liked her perspective on things; she was literally right in the middle, which made her able to see the good and the bad from both sides. (I know, this is really vague, but its hard to go into specifics without giving away too much.) I like how she finally takes charge and thought she was brave for what she ends up having to do.
I loved the romance in this, there is a lot going on so it’s not really the main focus, but I loved it. I was worried there for awhile, but I loved how everything wrapped up.
I think this is my favorite of Rallisons paranormal series, it was original and fun. I liked the take on Horusians and Setites (especially the Setites, that mythology seemed so much more believable and I wish I could write more about it.) Overall, a really fun read. BUY a copy as soon as it’s released, you won’t be disappointed. There HAS to be a sequel, I want more of Aislynn and Dane!

What?
By Hatbox121
Ah. I actually really liked this book. Cool characters, a fresh idea for the world, and a nice plot make for a great read. I'd be all over this series.....if there was a series to be read.
The good stuff:
Characters- characters that had a nice depth to them and weren't one dimensional. They were both good and bad. I love that our heroine struggled with right and wrong vs loyalty and love. She was courageous yet had fears. Most of the characters had similar things. Even if you didn't like their actions you understood where they were coming from.
The plot and world- this was my first Egyptian myths book so the idea of where they got their powers was new to me. It was also well done. Sure they had powers but they weren't invincible either. Nothing is more boring than an all powerful, invincible, always right super being. The settings changed several times and you get to see some of each part of the world without it being overly wordy.
The writing- it flowed well. The dialogue was good. No weird stilted conversation here. Grammar, spelling and such was great. I noticed no mistakes. I can't speak to accuracy of Boston or Arizona or Egypt but it seemed realistic to me.
The bad- at the end of the book the author had a little q & a section. She clearly stated that there wouldn't be a sequel unless it did very well. It ended like a series book should yet at the time(and as far as I know still over two years later) there was no plan for another book. Why finish the book that way? You never will learn if and who decides to change. You won't learn if the relationship goes anywhere. Nope. Why not make it a stand alone? Frustrating for those of us who spent time and money on this book and who really liked it. Why make a book formatted to obviously be a series when your intentions are to screw the reader before you even write it? Ugh.

RALLISON does it again! AWESOME BOOK!
By quibecca
Aislynn, Roark and their father, are Setite's as well as Cordelia and Jack. Who are also a brother and sister. Then there was Dane one of Roark's friends. Aislynn wanted to be more than friends with Dane.
Dane is a Horusian. What is a Horusian you may ask? Well I wish I could tell you :). What I can tell you is that having read it I still cannot decide who the bad guys are and who the good guys are. I wish I wasn't serious, but I am. I LOVE, LOVE it when a book can do that to me.
Rallison (aka C.J. Hill) has done it again. I have yet to read a book of hers that I have not fell in love with. Her writing is beautiful. This book was so intense. It was AWESOME.
Like I said above I cannot tell if the Setites or the Horusians are good guys or bad guys. I think there are good and bad things about both of them, so even as I was coming to the end, I was hoping to determine for sure who were the "bad" guys. It might be more obvious to some than me, but Rallison realllllllly needs to do a sequel :). I dreamt about this book last night, as I always do when a book doesn't have a definite ending. I guess it could have one, but in my head there is so much more that could happen. So in her interview at the end of the book she says that if she can sell 10,000 copies of this book she will do a sequel. Lets just say, I am going to recommend this book to every person I know so that we can reach that goal. I need a sequel....Selfish? Of course I am ;).
I loved the Egyptian link in this book. I loved the characters. I loved the writing. I do not think there is anything that I do not like about this book. (well other than I want a sequel, but that is my own issue...hehe).
I loved this book. That is all there is too it. I wish I could say more, but almost anything I say will give too much away. You should really go buy a copy! No, Really! I so want a sequel...hehe
Let me say, "I LOVE this cover!" Rallison is a master at drawing me into whatever book I am reading of hers. I am never disappointed with her books....I just added a few more to my collection :).
